- Short names (1–2 syllables) are easier for pets to learn and respond to.
- Avoid names that sound like common commands ("Kit" sounds like "Sit," "Bo" sounds like "No").
- Say it out loud a few times — you'll be calling it across a yard or a vet waiting room for the next 10+ years.
